Adrian and Lisa Race, had travelled to the ClubHotel Riu Merengue earlier this year with their two daughters to celebrate Mrs Race’s parents golden wedding anniversary. However the family’s joy was short-lived, after they began to suffer from symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting and a fever which ultimately overshadowed their long awaited break.

When commenting on the possible cause of his family’s suffering, father and husband Adrian, 47, revealed that the food on offer at the resort sometimes tasted “out of date” and was left uncovered for a “significant” amount of time.

Unfortunately, it seems that more holidaymakers have fallen ill after finding problems with the food served at the hotel.

One disgruntled holidaymaker who travelled to the ClubHotel Riu Merengue with a friend, took to the website TripAdvisor to voice their concerns and revealed:

At times we ended up skipping a meal or two [because] of how poor the food was. We were both ill during the time we were there.

“Overall I shall not be staying in this hotel again”.
