Here at Your Holiday claims we are saddened to be reading reports of more guests becoming ill at the ClubHotel Riu Bambu in the Dominican Republic.

The ClubHotel Riu Bambu is a 4 star all inclusive, promoted by Thomson amongst others. The hotel enjoys a beachfront location along with five restaurants, three swimming pools and Spa.

Guests to the hotel have complained on TripAdvisor after suffering “stomach bugs.”

Many have revealed that the food at the hotel was a “let down.” One guest described the food as “cold and repetitive.”

One couple who stayed at the hotel suffered with illness for “6 days in total.” They commented: “we only drank bottled water, never ate salads, always washed the fruit and never had ice in our drinks.”

Another guest to the hotel also suffered illness, he said: “I was violently ill for 48hrs, it could have been the food.”

A lady, who also reviewed her stay said that she became “extremely sick with fever and upset stomach.”

It has been reported that the food served was “prepared in an extensive amount of oil which just kept making things worse.”
