âThe most terrible experience any of us ever had on resortâ is how the newly-wed couple from Canada described their stay, after their large group of family and friends were struck down with food poisoning.
On Tripadvisor, the guest said: âThree quarters of our group ended up very sick with extreme diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, food poisoning etc. due to the large amounts of sodium, MSG and fillers used in their food.
âThey do not sanitize or clean their table tops, cutlery, food stations, glasses or otherwise, well from what wed seen, so we feel this added to the cause of the large amount of us being sick.â
Amidst people being struck down with illness, one of the wedding guests was also involved in an accident within the hotel grounds, resulting in a broken arm.
The lady added: âA member of our group broke their arm one evening due to a transition in the flooring from the main area into the lounge area. It was not lit, not marked and went from a black mat to black tile, so made it easy for several guests to trip fall.
âUnfortunately for our group member, they broke their arms as a result.
âNot one staff member came over to see if she was ok or to follow up with her the next day to check on herâ.
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, comments: âI am very disappointed to hear that such a special occasion was spoilt as a result of so many in the party being unwell during their stay at the IFA Villas Bavaro Resort & Spa.
âThe team and I urge anyone who has been ill during their stay here, or been involved in an accident within the resort to contact us, as they may be entitled compensation. I understand that tour operator, Thomas Cook, features the hotel here in the UK.â
