Here at Your Holiday Claims we have been reading reports of illness at the Sunlight Garden in Turkey.
Guests have taken to TripAdvisor to review their time at the resort with a holidaymaker claiming he returned weighing âhalf a stone lessâ.
He commented: âI was also diagnosed with gastroenteritis when I came home, also missing out on a weeks wage. I was very ill on holiday which ruined it for me.â
âI did not eat out so I can only blame the food (lukewarm, repetitive, covered in flies, mush basically). First time Ive come home from holiday weighing half a stone less, put it that way!â
Another guest said it was the âworst hotelâ they âhave ever stayed inâ, commenting: âEverything was lukewarm and tasted awful. There were even microwaves available which tells you management obviously knew the food was not being held at a hot enough temperature!â
âNothing was covered and bearing in mind that it is an open air restaurant this meant the many flies had free reign to land and do their dirty business on whatever they chose, they were especially fond of the fruit.â
âOn returning to the UK I visited my doctor and was diagnosed with gastroenteritis. There is no doubt in my mind that this was down to the hotel food. As I work in a kitchen I was signed off work for over a weekâ.
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, said: âIt is concerning to read that guests at the Sunlight Garden have witnessed poor food and hygiene standards and have suffered illness.â
âI would strongly urge anyone who has been affected by illness at this resort to either get in touch with myself or a member of our expert team of holiday illness solicitors to discuss making a claim for compensationâ.
