Here at Your Holiday Claims, we are very disappointed to hear of the continuing illness of British holidaymaker, Lillian Foote, following an outbreak of food poisoning at Hauza Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, 3 years after her ruined stay at the hotel.
The MailOnline has reported that Mrs Foote, 62, from Warrington, suffered from severe food poisoning during her stay at the five star Egypt hotel in September 2012 and since returning has been troubled with ongoing illness as a result.
Mrs Foote was struck with severe illness just three days into her stay at the luxury resort and has since been advised by doctors that she may continue to suffer from ongoing gastroenteritis indefinitely. She has also been referred for surgery following doctors discovering lumps and parasites in her intestines.
Further to her physical trauma, Mrs Foote has also been prescribed anti-depressants to help deal with the psychological upset of her ordeal. Reports have also indicated up to 15 other holidaymakers were taken ill at the luxury resort due to poor hygiene standards.
Speaking to the MailOnline, Mrs Foote commented: âI am so unhappy this has ended up like this. It just does not seem to want to resolve itself. People talk about getting ill on holiday but having this for three years now is ridiculous. I just want to get it sorted out and want to help others in the same situation and prevent it happening again to someone else.â
Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, Anne Thomson, commented: âFood poisoning whilst abroad can be very distressing for those affected, even more so when symptoms continue long after holidaymakers have returned home.
âThis is unfortunately not the first outbreak of illness we have become aware of Hauza Beach Resort and Mrs Footes unpleasant ordeal, among several others, raises serious concerns about the safety practices at this resort.
âI would urge anyone who has been affected by illness at Hauza Beach Resort to seek expert legal assistance and contact the experienced team here at Your Holiday Claims to find out if they may be able to make a claim for holiday illness compensation.â
