Here at Your Holiday Claims we have been contacted by a British holidaymaker whose stay was ruined by severe illness at Club Hotel Aguamarina in Menorca.
Whilst staying at the Thomas Cook promoted hotel, the holidaymaker has reportedly contracted the rotavirus as a result of the “appalling hygiene standards”.
Several recent hotel guests who have also been struck with sickness at the resort have taken to TripAdvisor to warn others.
“There were 22 of us, when being picked up from the airport we weren’t advised of a sickness bug that was flying around the hotel like wild wind.
“Within the first day my nephew got it and was poorly for two days, then it went straight through all the family and the whole second floor where we were staying had it too.
“More than 6 children were taken to the hospital and kept in, one family moved hotels through this so they could enjoy the rest of their holiday.
“This ruined our holiday as we never got the chance to do anything as a whole family.”
Another guest commented on the poor hygiene at the hotel, “Choice of food? Total slop. Machines dispensing tea/coffee/fruit juice leaking. Ants on table. Previous night’s food on floor at breakfast time.
The guest continued “No wonder there has been sickness bug at this place. Thank god I’m home! Worst holiday ever!”
