In a particularly alarming report from June 2016, one hotel guest clearly states that he required hospital treatment after contracting food poisoning at the resort.
They revealed:
âI woke at 3am with severe vomiting and spent the next 7 hours in hospital getting treated with IV fluids and anti-pyretic medication â food poisoning!
âThe hotel took absolutely no responsibility for this ⦠and it completely ruined the rest of our holiday.
âOn reading the other reviews it appears this is not the first time someone has been served uncooked chickenâ.
Indeed, a Solihull holidaymaker who visited the resort in May claims that âraw chickenâ was served as part of their lunch.
Animal activity on the resort is also highlighted as a cause for concern by a recent guest. The Liverpool holidaymaker vows to ânever come againâ and claims that cats and dogs were free to roam the hotel grounds and beach.
Our Head of Travel Laws thoughts
âI am concerned to read reports of illness and raw poultry being served to guests at the Sensatori Resort Crete.
âIt is common knowledge that if meat is not cooked thoroughly then illness can occur. Campylobacter food poisoning contracted from undercooked chicken can be incredibly serious and debilitating.
âI advise anyone who is suffering from, or has suffered from illness on their package holiday to contact myself or any of the team at YourHolidayClaims for expert advice and supportâ.
