A holidaymaker has contacted the team at Your Holiday Claims after 8 members of their party fell after contracting suspected cryptosporidium at the Hotel Akropol in Turkey.
Previous guests at the resort have taken to TripAdvisor to review their holidays, with a guest from Glasgow warning “don’t go to this hotel”.
They said: “My husband had food poisoning and was ill for three days – there was no doctor available. He couldn’t eat the food and we were too far away from any restaurant to go for a meal”.
Another guest from Birmingham said: “The food is the same every day it doesn’t tell you what it is and to top it all off three of us have been very ill on the day we are due to come home (food poisoning). NEVER AGAIN”.
And a holidaymaker said the hotel “needs attention”, they commented: “Not sure what some of the food was, wish I’d never eaten once all my party of 8 and most other guests got food poisoning.”
“Hotel said it was a 24 hour bug we’ve been home a week and my GP is testing for salmonella”.
Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, Anne Thomson, said: “It is very concerning to hear from a guest at the Hotel Akropol who has had their holiday ruined by illness.”
“Cryptosporidium is a parasite that when contracted can lead to gastroenteritis with symptoms including sickness and diarrhoea.”
“I would urge anyone who has fallen ill at this hotel to get in touch with us to discuss whether you may be able to make a successful claim for compensation”.
