A holidaymaker has contacted the team at Your Holiday Claims after 8 members of their party fell after contracting suspected cryptosporidium at the Hotel Akropol in Turkey.
Previous guests at the resort have taken to TripAdvisor to review their holidays, with a guest from Glasgow warning âdont go to this hotelâ.
They said: âMy husband had food poisoning and was ill for three days â there was no doctor available. He couldnt eat the food and we were too far away from any restaurant to go for a mealâ.
Another guest from Birmingham said: âThe food is the same every day it doesnt tell you what it is and to top it all off three of us have been very ill on the day we are due to come home (food poisoning). NEVER AGAINâ.
And a holidaymaker said the hotel âneeds attentionâ, they commented: âNot sure what some of the food was, wish Id never eaten once all my party of 8 and most other guests got food poisoning.â
âHotel said it was a 24 hour bug weve been home a week and my GP is testing for salmonellaâ.
Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, Anne Thomson, said: âIt is very concerning to hear from a guest at the Hotel Akropol who has had their holiday ruined by illness.â
âCryptosporidium is a parasite that when contracted can lead to gastroenteritis with symptoms including sickness and diarrhoea.â
âI would urge anyone who has fallen ill at this hotel to get in touch with us to discuss whether you may be able to make a successful claim for compensationâ.
