Your Holiday Claims has helped a couple from Devon claim almost £4,000 after their stay at the Holiday Village Algarve was ruined by gastric illness.

After an extremely stressful year, Mr and Mrs Shord booked a long-awaited holiday to the First Choice Holiday Village Algarve in Portugal to spend a hard earned holiday in the sun.

Unfortunately only a matter of days into their stay the couple began suffering symptoms of gastric illness, causing them to spend days confined to their hotel room.

Many others were also affected and the couple took it upon themselves to raise their concerns to the First Choice holiday representative.

Despite complaints, very little action was taken and the problems continued to persist.

Undercooked, reheated food left open to cross contamination are just some of the reasons why so many people fell ill.

Unfortunately, very little action was taken by the hotelier and the couple decided to take legal action upon their return to the UK.

Successful Recovery of £4,000 from First Choice

Sue Robinson, a holiday illness expert at Your Holiday Claims, was their first port of call who has since been successful in recovering nearly £4,000 compensation for the couple.
