Your Holiday Claims have helped a carer from Leeds recover £2,200 in compensation after her hard-earned holiday to Hurghada in Egypt was ruined by gastric illness.
Jennifer Masters, from Leeds, stayed with her family at five star Steigenberger Aqua Magic in Hurghada in July 2014 as a celebratory getaway for her husbands 50th birthday.
The West Yorkshire couple, along with their son, had made special reservations to celebrate at one of the resorts best restaurants but were unable to attend when Mrs Masters became ill.
Sickness stricken Mrs Masters began suffering symptoms of gastric illness including diarrhoea and crippling stomach cramps believed to be caused by poor hygiene standards at the extensive Hurghada resort.
Mrs Masters told our holiday claims experts âthe chefs have no idea about hygieneâ after witnessing cold and lukewarm food served up on several occasions at the resorts all-inclusive restaurant.
Hazardous pool hygiene was also a cause for concern, Mrs Masters reported ânot once in 10 daysâ was the pool cleaned and recalled her horror at the pool âbeing used as a toiletâ by one female guest.
âAll day around the pool you could smell a sewage like smellâ added Mrs Masters.
Symptoms of sickness and diarrhoea caused by poor hygiene are also reported to have ruined the stays of several British families at Steigenberger Aqua Magic throughout 2014 and 2015.
Multiple holiday illness claims from Steigenberger Aqua Magic
Your Holiday Claims are currently representing handfuls of British holidaymakers who are seeking to claim compensation after illness marred their holidays at the five star resort.
Solicitor and holiday claims expert, Tracy Stansfield, commented: âI am very pleased that Mrs Masters has now been compensated after illness ruined her celebrations at Steigenberger Aqua Magic.
âMyself and the team here at Your Holiday Claims have settled numerous claims for holiday illness at Steigenberger Aqua Magic during 2015 and continue to regularly hear from further affected guests.
âI do hope that Thomas Cook will now take action in investigating the causes of illness at this resort to ensure that more British guests are not affected.â
Mrs Masters has now successfully received £2,200 in holiday illness compensation from tour operator Thomas Cook following gastric illness contracted at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic resort.
Successful claimant Mrs Master commented: âWe felt completely ripped off following our holiday and felt the standard of the hotel was nowhere near the five star rating that was advertised.
âI would like to thank Tracy and the team at Your Holiday Claims for their excellent assistance in bringing this matter to a close.â
