A couple from Hull have successfully received £4,320 in total compensation thanks to Your Holiday Claims after an outbreak of illness ruined their much anticipated stay at Azul Sensatori in Mexico.

Our clients booked an 11-night stay at the five-star Azul Sensatori (also known as Sensatori Resort Mexico) for late June 2015, looking forward to taking in the many sights of Mexico through planned excursions.

Unfortunately, all of our clients holiday plans were put on hold as nausea, diarrhoea and stomach cramps struck. The stricken couple claim that they were not alone in their suffering as a number of their fellow guests also reported experiencing the same crippling illness symptoms, thought to be caused by the parasite Cyclospora Cayetanensis entering the hotels food chain.

“Other people were insisting on being moved to another hotel as the bug was rife,” explains one member of the afflicted pair.

“The day we left there were more people transferring to another hotel. We were extremely disappointed with the whole experience as it was the most expensive holiday we have booked yet we never saw anything of Mexico as we were simply too ill,” they add.

“We emailed Thomson who acknowledged issues except illness.”
