British holidaymakers are reporting falling ill with stomach bugs on holiday at the Club Magic Life Sharm el Sheikh Imperial in Egypt.
Our holiday claims team have previously handled claims from holidaymakers who have fallen ill at the Club Magic Life. The recent spate of illness comes after we reported outbreaks of illness in January 2014.
Hotel guests have commented on experiencing poor food and hygiene standards during their stay.
This has led British holidaymakers to comment on the conditions at the hotel through the review website TripAdvisor.
One visitor to the hotel stated that outdoor restaurants were often left dirty by birds and stray cats.
They said: âMain buffet restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Outside seating is cloth which is covered in dried bird droppings from flocks of sparrow that pester you at breakfast.
âPlus there is a ginger and white cat that jumps on the tables for any scraps when you leave the table. Never shooed away by staff. At night there is no lighting so unable to see what you are eating.â
Others have complained: âWe both had very bad stomachs and we were not the only ones by far. Everyone we spoke to had the same and we were told it was due to the heat but the food was not that great.â
Another holidaymaker stated: âThe food and drink supplied by the hotel is far from 5 star.
âAs mentioned by some reviewers a large percentage of the hotel guests had some form of stomach bug during the holiday whether this was from the food itself or the water that had been used to prepare the food. The food itself is often very similar each night with little variety.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented:Â âTour operators have a duty of care to ensure that all the hotels they promote maintain correct food and hygiene standards. With the summer holiday season fast approaching, it is important that any problems in this regard are investigated to protect the health of all holidaymakers.
âI would urge anyone who has fallen ill on holiday at the Club Magic Life Sharm el Sheikh Imperial, to contact us as soon as possible.â
