Holidaymakers are continuing to report outbreaks of holiday illness at the ClubHotel Riu Bambu in the Dominican Republic.

This is the very same hotel where our specialist solicitors helped a Birmingham engineer secure over £2,000 in damages following salmonellosis at the resort.

Visitors to the hotel have commented TripAdvisor that numerous guests have suffered stomach bugs during their stay.

One holidaymaker reported that their “whole family” were ill during their stay. Family members suffered from dehydration and were taken for hospital treatment.”

They said: “We stayed 7 nights in this hotel. The downside is that our whole family got sick. We had 10 people with us.”

“We had to take my mum straight to ER where they had to admit her. She was so dehydrated from stomach issues. The rest of us went to urgent care.”

“We only ate at the resort. We talked to several other people staying there and they all had the same issues.

“All of the kids got ear infections from the pool in addition to the stomach issues. This hotel ruined the Dominican Republic for me. I dont think we will ever go back.”

Hotel guests reported contracted stomach bugs after food was left “out in the heat”.

A holidaymaker from Middlesbrough commented: “Problems with stomach viruses definitely here. Not sure if its the water or just hygiene or just a Dominican thing but lots of people had a problem with it.

“Included in it is my wife who is still ill two weeks after coming home.”
