YourHolidayClaims have become aware of yet another Cape Verde resort that has been subject to an illness outbreak, as this time the Melia Tortuga Beach Resort is in the sickness spotlight.
Reports have recently transpired from the website TripAdvisor, which suggest that food poisoning problems are present at the five-star hotel.
One distressed holidaymaker who stayed over the Christmas period commented:
âIt was the worst Christmas EVERâ
âThe food was appalling, we were given frozen vegetables, undercooked vegetables, an off suckling pig on Christmas Day ⦠the list is endless.
âThere were wild dogs on the beach, endless amounts of cigarette ends and horse poo. Broken sun beds and more dodgy food in the beach bar.
âWe only ate in the hotel so we know that the food poisoning we suffered with came from thereâ.
Other recent holidaymakers have also revealed how they have suffered from food poisoning whilst staying at the resort, and some have even claimed they have succumbed to illness twice during one trip.

Travel law experts disappointed
âIts hugely disappointing to learn that holidays have been ruined by illness, even more so over a time which is supposed to be special such as the Christmas and New Year period.
âThe issues that holidaymakers have raised regarding the hotels standards are completely intolerable, and I should hope that investigations are carried out to assure that these outbreaks do not happen again.
