Jaz Aquaviva Resort âruns outâ of medication following widespread illness
- Party of 26 holidaymakers all struck with gastric illness
- Those affected suffer from diarrhoea, sickness and excruciating stomach cramps
- Additional recent guests of the Egyptian resort hold poor food hygiene responsible for the illness outbreak
The travel law team here at YourHolidayClaims are aware of recent illness issues at Egypts Jaz Aquaviva Resort.
The First Choice promoted resort has featured in reports in recent weeks which reveal that a group of 26 holidaymakers, including honeymooners, all fell victim to gastric illness during their stays.
The afflicted guests revealed that their illness came as a result of poor hygienic practices at the resort, and that some holidaymakers even needed to be treated with an IV drip to combat their condition.
Furthermore, reviews on the website TripAdvisor suggest that even more recent visitors of the Jaz Aquaviva Resort have fallen ill during their holiday.
A British holidaymaker who stayed at the resort earlier this month posted:
âThe food temperature was never checked, the restaurants not very clean and we saw people (especially local Egyptian children) drop food and serving spoons etc. and put it back in the tray. Both myself and my daughter were very ill.
âI felt terrible nauseous and had terrible stomach cramps and severe diarrhoea for eleven days and my daughter had the same for five days.
âWe both had to have antibiotics and gastro tablets from the chemist as our two boxes of Imodium didn’t work at all. I booked a quad bike trip but after ten minutes had to quit very quickly to get back to the toilets where I was very sickâ.
In addition to this, another recent guest of the resort disclosed:
âYes we did get ill at first we put this down to change of climate and the normal holiday tummy bugs, however it soon became apparent that there was more going on in this as more and more people became ill.
âI took plenty of Imodium with me (just in case) but we soon went through all that and when I asked at front desk if the local pharmacy could deliver some we [were]Â told they had run out!!!!
Our experts take
âIt is really unnerving to learn to learn the vast amount of holidaymakers who have recently fallen ill at the Jaz Aquaviva Resort.
