British holidaymakers have contacted the team at Your Holiday Claims after being affected by gastric illness at the Sensatori Resort Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
Hygiene standards at the Thomson promoted hotel have also received criticism through the hotel review site TripAdvisor.
One frustrated guest commented: âBoth of us fell ill with diarrhoea and stomach pains after a meal at the hotel restaurant, which lasted for 2-3 days.
âWe were also disappointed to find that construction work began at approximately 6am each morning. This is full on ear splitting noise about 300 yards from your balcony.â
In November 2014, an outbreak of illness made national news as the Mail Online reported that a holidaymaker had been left on an IV drip after suffering symptoms of gastric illness.
Another recent visitor took to TripAdvisor to describe the food at the Sensatori Resort Sharm el Sheikh served at the hotel as âdiabolicalâ.
They added that they spent âseveral days unable to leave the room for more than half an hourâ after experiencing symptoms including âstomach cramps and diarrhoea.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âIt is very worrying to hear of more cases of illness at the Sensatori Resort Sharm el Sheikh.
âWe have been instructed by many holidaymakers who have stayed at this hotel as far back as 2012. Unfortunately each year has seen cases of illness at this hotel.
âIllness can quickly ruin a holiday and often results in spending days confined to a hotel room. I would encourage anyone who has fallen ill on holiday at the Sensatori Resort Sharm to contact Your Holiday Claims as you may be able to make a successful claim for compensation.â
