Reports of suspected food poisoning have been received from holidaymakers who stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort and Spa in Mexico.
The Grand Palladium, featured by UK tour operator First Choice is situated on Playa Kantenah Beach and has many facilities: 13 restaurants including 5 buffet restaurants and 8 a la carte; 7 swimming pools; 6 tennis courts and watersports.
On review site TripAdvisor, one user stated: “Over half of our group had stomach viruses lasting up to 3 days. Hand sanitizer was mandatory at breakfast buffets but there were no dispensers at á lá cartes nor beach buffets”.
In a separate review, another TripAdvisor user complains the food was a “disaster”. She continues, “Breakfast fruit is flavourless, juice is not fresh. The 24 hour bar offers hamburgers with dry buns and frozen patties, served on Styrofoam plates.”
Another TripAdvisor user criticises the 5 star rating “as 2 star at best”.
