Numerous holidaymakers have reportedly been struck down with illness whilst staying at the five star Amara Island Bodrum Elite in Turkey.

One unfortunate holidaymaker reported on TripAdvisor: “All members of our party were sick at this hotel, both with projectile vomiting and diarrhoea.

“This was not a 24 hour stomach upset it lasted 4 days and left you feeling exhausted and suppressed your appetite.

“I saw guests from all nationalities being sick all over the complex and it was left or not cleaned properly.

The extensive Thomas Cook resort promotes several bars and restaurants and its very own waterpark however, many recent visitors have warned others to “steer clear”.

A recent holidaymaker reported that “cleanliness at this hotel is an issue” and warned, “If you go, take hand sanitisers, use the non-buffet restaurants and steer clear of the pools”.
