Guests continue to suffer in illness outbreaks at RIU Vallarta

Just last week, a stricken British holidaymaker contacted YourHolidayClaims for help making a claim for holiday illness in Mexico after falling ill at the 550 room RIU Vallarta in Playa de Flamingos.

And now other afflicted holidaymakers have taken to review site TripAdvisor reporting to have suffered from stomach upsets, sickness, ear infections and bed bug bites during recent stays at the beachfront resort.

One disgruntled recent guest of the RIU Vallarta revealed:

“Both me and my partner have been poorly with really bad sickness for over the duration of the holiday… this is either from the pool or the food.”

“The adult swimming pool is disgusting and dirty! Your swim water when dry has a strong smell of urine and not even the slightest smell of chlorine at all.

“The food has a very strange horrible taste to it!”

Another recently returned holidaymaker simply advises potential visitors “don’t do it” and catalogues an appalling list of hygiene failings:

“My niece got a double ear infection and I got bacterial sinusitis from the pool, that gives you an idea of how clean it was.

“Our sheets weren’t changed despite numerous requests throughout our stay”.

Reports of guests suffering from bed bug bites can also be found online with one afflicted holidaymaker from Durham bluntly labelling the hotel “the dirtiest hotel I have stopped in!”

“Reports of illness at RIU Vallarta now stretch back over 6 months, to March 2016. At that time, I hoped that the hotel and tour operators would have conducted a full and thorough investigation in order to safeguard guests – this clearly does not appear to have happened.
