Holidaymakers returning from the Iberotel Aquamarine Resort in Hurghada, Egypt during August 2013 are complaining on TripAdvisor of suffering severe sickness, diarrhoea and stomach cramps.
This follows similar complaints of illness at this hotel in May, 2013.
The Iberotel Aquamarine Resort is promoted by Thomson Holidays among others. This hotel is a 5 star all inclusive in a beach-front location. The hotel dining facilities include a main Topaz buffet restaurant, 4 Corners buffet restaurant and 4 Ã la carte restaurants â Italian, Asian, Oriental and seafood.
One holidaymaker stated that his whole family suffered from ´sickness, diarrhoea and vomiting´ and another guest said: âThe food was awful and every day we were served the same thing. The vegetables tasted as if they had gone off days ago.â
Anne Thomson, Head of the Holiday Illness Claims Department at Farnworth Rose, said: âThere is no excuse for repeat outbreaks of illness in a package holiday hotel, and we have seen many reports of illness at the Iberostar Aquamarine in the past 6 months. Whatever the tour operators are doing to try and improve standards of food and hygiene at this hotel is clearly not working and there should be a full investigation to find out why so many people are suffering illness.â
