We are reading shocking reports on TripAdvisor of severe sickness at the Aquafantasy Aquapark Hotel & Spa in Kusadasi, Turkey which has affected many British holidaymakers during August, 2013.
One holidaymaker wrote on 27th August: âMy family and I have just returned from Aqua Fantasy hotel and in a word would describe this as a NIGHTMARE. Do not bother going there!â
âWe like the majority of the other guests staying at the hotel were struck with the bug that has been circulating and is rife in this hotel.
“I have had this bug now for 9 days and have had severe diarrhoea, vomiting and nausea, along with severe pains and cramping in my stomach like I have never experienced before.
“This is due to the extremely poor standards of hygiene around the hotel. Although the staff are constantly brushing and cleaning away rubbish etc, they were not seen once to be using any sort of anti bacterial spray or other disinfectant to clean surfaces even though the management were well aware of the scale of the problem.â
One lady contacted us to say she had booked a holiday at the Aquafantasy Aquapark Hotel, but now wants to cancel because the illness outbreak is so severe. The tour operator, First Choice, has refused to return the lady´s money if she cancels.
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at YourHolidayClaims, said: âWe are aware of the problems at the Aquafantasy Aquapark in Kusadasi, and have read reports from many British holidaymakers who have suffered severe illness at the hotel.
âWe understand that holidaymakers who have been ill during their stays at the Aquafantasy are being contacted directly by First Choice and offers of compensation are being made.
We would urge any holidaymaker NOT to accept any offer put forward by First Choice without first contacting the Holiday Illness Team at Farnworth Rose for FREE legal advice. Without legal advice you are at risk of accepting a settlement that totally undercompensates you for your pain and suffering (ie your illness), the lost days of your holiday, the loss of enjoyment of your holiday and any financial losses you may have incurred such as loss of earnings.
If you are experiencing any ongoing symptoms or have not yet recovered to your pre-illness state of health, it really is far too soon to be accepting compensation as, if you do accept the amount offered, you will in all probability not be able to go back to First Choice for further compensation if you do not recover for some time or if your symptoms deteriorate.
If you have already accepted an offer from First Choice but have not yet received the settlement cheque or have not yet banked the cheque, please contact us immediately â do NOT bank the cheque until we have had
