Holidaymakers reveal how their Egyptian escapes were ruined by illness
- Multiple holidaymakers left âseverely illâ whilst staying at the Xperience Kiroseiz Parkland in Egypt
- Poor food hygiene held responsible for the outbreak
- Former guests of the resort also reveal they were forced to receive medical treatment to combat illness
Numerous visitors to the Thomas Cook promoted hotel have commented on TripAdvisor after their holidays were ruined by illness and poor food standards.
Guests have stated that food was often served âcoldâ whilst one holidaymaker reported that âchicken was served rawâ.
One recent visitor commented:
âThree days into my weeks holiday I was severely ill. I went to the pharmacy on site to be given some tablets that made me worse.
âWhen I arrived home the doctor advised me I had picked up salmonella food poisoning. It wasnt just me either, I know at least six [others] who got it as wellâ.
Others have reported being affected by symptoms including âsevere diarrhoeaâ, adding that they âwerent the only onesâ.
Comments from our Head of Travel Law
âThe reports of salmonella at the Xperience Kiroseiz Parkland are a concern. We have previously been instructed by holidaymakers who suffered similarly at this hotel in 2012 and 2013. It seems that further breakdowns in hygiene practices have occurred yet again.
âSalmonella is a common cause of food poisoning on holiday and can lead to experiencing symptoms including sickness and diarrhoea. If food is undercooked or served lukewarm, there is a risk of holidaymakers being affected by food poisoning.
âAs ever I encourage anyone who has been affected by illness on their package holiday to contact myself or a member of our expert holiday claims team for advice on whether they may be entitled to make a claimâ.
