The team at Your Holiday Claims has heard from a guest who is seeking compensation after contracting salmonella at the ClubHotel Riu Bambu.
They said they suffered from diarrhoea and stomach cramps while at the hotel earlier this month. After seeing their doctor, it was confirmed that their illness was caused by salmonella.
Other guests have taken to TripAdvisor to review the hotel after suffering illness during their holidays.
A holidaymaker from London used the site to warn, âdo not go thereâ, they added: âWe found a lot of dirty plates, cups, cutlery etc. Food was almost always the same and really tasteless.
âIn the entire resort there was a stench (even water was stinky). Me and my boyfriend were very careful with food, we even used only bottled water to brush our teeth, but he got sick anyway.â
Another guest said: âStayed here for a five day vacation. One week later, I am still sick. Ive had to call off work for the last two days because I am so sick. The food was not good. The room was disgusting.â
We previously reported on illness at the hotel after guests noted sickness and poor food standards on TripAdvisor earlier in the year.
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced travel law solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, said: âIt is worrying that we have received an enquiry from a guest who has been ill at this hotel quite recently, especially after reading reports of illness at the resort just a few months ago.
“We have successfully settled a number of holiday illness claims against this resort, including that of a Birmingham holidaymaker who received over £2,000 in compensation after contracting salmonella at the resort in 2015.
âI would encourage anyone who has had their holiday at the ClubHotel Riu Bambu ruined by illness in the last three years to give us a call to discuss making a claim for compensation.â
