We have been contacted by a holidaymaker who has contracted Salmonella food poisoning whilstÂ staying at the Tasia Maris Hotel in Nissi Beach, Cyprus.
The Tasia Maris is a Thomson Gold Hotel, and is described on the Thomson website as Â´perfect forÂ couples looking for a fun-filled getaway, just footsteps from the beach.Â´
Our client suffered from severe diarrhoea whilst staying at the hotel and he became so ill that hisÂ partner arranged a flight home, cutting his holiday short. On his return to the UK, our client wasÂ admitted to hospital and diagnosed with Salmonella. Environmental health officials suspect heÂ contracted it from the salad he ate, as his partner did not eat any salad and was unaffected. Our clientÂ had to spend 5 days in hospital and is still bedridden.
The holidaymakers were staying on a half board basis but only ate in the hotel.
