We are concerned about the number of reports that have been on TripAdvisor with regard to the appalling conditions of hygiene in this hotel.

Holidaymakers have said it is the “dirtiest” they have ever seen and “the worst holiday ever” amongst many other recent complaints in September and October 2013.

A lady from London who stayed at the Sahara Beach Hotel in September 2013 said: “This is the worst holiday and worst hotel I have ever been to in my life and I travel all over the world.

“Where should I start? The rooms were the smallest I have ever seen, dirtiest I have ever seen, and dustiest I have ever seen.

“There was no water for two days of our holiday and no apologies.

“The staff were very ignorant and made us feel like we were begging for a drink.

“The pools were covered in green and smelt awful. The floors around the pool area are filthy and covered in ants. You cant sit for long on a sunbed without been covered in flys.

“If you are Tunisian or a dog you will enjoy the food if not dont even go there.

“This is a 3 star hotel and should be 1 if that. Please read all reviews before visiting here I wish I had what a waste of money”.

Hundreds of complaints after illness at Sahara Beach Hotel, Tunisia

“I hope the tour operators who promote and sell package holidays to the Sahara Beach Hotel carry out a full investigation and drastically improve the standards of hygiene to prevent people from becoming ill and holidays from being ruined.

“If anyone has experienced illness during their stay at this resort, I would urge them to seek medical attention straight away and contact us as soon as possible for help to pursue a claim for compensation”.
