Holiday makers have claimed to have needed a “holiday to recover” from their stay at Hotel Club Jandia Princess in Fuerteventura

Hotel Club Jandia Princess is promoted by Thomson as a ‘Platinum Lifestyle’ lifestyle destination in Fueteventura. Thomson features the hotel as “a sun-worshippers paradise’.

It seems some holiday makers have been confined to their rooms and unable to worship much of the sunshine in ‘paradise’

An alleged outbreak has been reported at Hotel Club Jandia Princess after multiple guests claim to have suffered food poisoning which led to some being hospitalised and put on intravenous drips.

“The doctor has said that a virus is spreading the Island of Fuerteventura” one residing guest has claimed. “I am still here and a number of people have the same illness, one man has had to be placed on a drip” she said.

“On the latter part of the holiday, I had the most severe sickness and stomach cramps I have ever had to endure” another holiday maker has said. “I was taken to the doctor’s clinic and had to pay for medication and be put on a drip” she said.

Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, Anne Thomson, responded to the claims: “It’s worrying to hear reports of outbreaks of illness at a hotel promoted as ‘Platinum Lifestyle’ by Thomson.”

“I trust the hotel management at Club Jandia Princess and Thomson will carry out a full investigation to prevent further cases of illness arising.”

“I would urge holiday makers returning home with symptoms of sickness and stomach cramps to contact their GP as soon as they can – the doctor may ask for stool samples to be provided in order to ascertain the type of bacterium or virus contracted.”
