A British lady whose holiday was ruined after suffering days of illness thought to be linked with the poor food and hygiene standards in the Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort and Spa hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, has turned to us for help to pursue a claim for compensation.

In July, August, September and October 2010, many holidaymakers allegedly contracted bacterial infections after dining at the Reef Oasis, including Salmonella, Shigella Dysentery and Giardia. A group from Liverpool who became ill whilst on holiday at the Reef Oasis Blue Bay hotel said:

“We (group of 4) got the runs and so did every single other guest we spoke to. People were suffering from diarrhoea, bad stomach cramps or vomiting.

“Without fail, every single guest we spoke to had it at some point, one guest from Leeds even had to go on a drip, in her room and the hotel Doctor had to attend”.
