Poor hygiene and illness ruin holidays at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic

Holidaymakers staying at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic in Hurghada, Egypt have experienced symptoms including vomiting and diarrhoea.

Many have commented on TripAdvisor reporting poor food hygiene standards which they believed to be the cause of illness at the hotel.

Here at Your Holiday Claims, we have received enquiries from holidaymakers who have fallen ill at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic both in April 2015 and throughout the summer months of 2014. We have spoken to families whose stays at the hotel were ruined by gastric illness.

One recent guest described the “restaurant area” as a “disgrace with very poor hygiene”. They added that the “food was of a very poor state and what was reasonable was never hot”.

Others have stated that the “hygiene in the restaurant was disgusting”, adding that the “hotel needs to take a good look at its restaurant facilities.”

A hotel guest claimed: “I have eaten in all-inclusive establishments all over the world and this has to be the worst.

“Everyone in our party had diarrhoea and vomiting and we know many guests who experienced the same. One guest was charged £150 by the doctor for antibiotics and a consultation.”
