Multiple holidaymakers raise concerns over poor hygiene standards at the Occidental Jandia Mar

The Occidental Jandia Mar resort in Fuerteventura has recent been subject to complaints from a number of frustrated holidaymakers, who claim that the resorts lack of hygiene resulted in them having their hard earned breaks ruined by sickness.
Commenting on the website TripAdvisor, one of these holidaymakers who visited the First Choice promoted resort earlier this month revealed:
âThe overall place was ok, however be aware of the food in the restaurant.
â[It was] often found to be cold and [Im] unsure how long it was kept out/ [reserved].
âAll 4 of my family became ill during our weeks stay. As did many other residents during that week.
âThe childrens area of the restaurant especially seems to be neglectedâ.
On top of this another former guest of the Occidental Jandia Mar told their fellow holidaymakers to avoid the four star resort, before adding:
âThe food is dreadful and all frozen. At the snack bar the chefs are cooking burgers from frozen and then serving them as [soon as] they [have] got some colour on the outside.
â[At] 5.30am on the 23rd November I literally felt like I was dying. I lost a whole day as [I] was in my room all day and night⦠[I was] scared to move.
âNobody seems to care and seems oblivious to it all. Everyone I spoke to shared the same views. They cant even heat soup up to the correct temperature.
âIt says a lot when they have placed a Microwave on the counterâ.
