Paramedics suffer illness at ClubHotel Riu Vistamar

Throughout recent days, TripAdvisor has been bombarded by holidaymakers who suffered sickness whilst residing at the ClubHotel Riu Vistamar.

ClubHotel Riu Vistamar is promoted by Thomson as a four-star hotel with cliff-top features. “Sea views come as standard at this clifftop hotel. On top of the buffet restaurant, theres a poolside place with three themed options on offer”.

One couple who recently returned from the hotel reported: “My wife is a paramedic, and I am a retired paramedic so Ill touch on what I contracted. I was violently sick early evening, projectile vomiting and severe diarrhoea which lasted 48 hours. It was horrendous.”

“On the third day, I felt better and went out for some fresh air. Just before our evening meal, I began vomiting again with diarrhoea. I also had flu-like symptoms. 24 hours later, the vomiting ceased but diarrhoea and flu symptoms remained”. He further claimed “I never had lunch or an evening meal for the last eight days – the staff had informed us that they were aware of the problem among guests”.

Another guest claimed her husband was hospitalised due to sickness. “Both myself and my husband suffered with the sickness bug” she said. “My husband spent three hours in the clinic in Puerto Rico on a drip because he was so unwell.”

“Doctors and ambulances turned up every day, all times of the day and night and worryingly enough, staff appeared entirely laid back regarding the sickness issues surrounding the hotel”.

“I would stress to all holidaymakers returning home from the ClubHotel Riu Vistamar with symptoms of sickness, to consult with their GP as soon as they can.”
