Illness problems persist at the Melia Dunas Resort
- The latest claims from holidaymakers suggest that a Shigella outbreak has hit the TUI promoted hotel
- Our experts have previously represented numerous former guests of this resort
- Shigella is a highly contagious illness that causes a fever, vomiting and severe diarrhoea
The legal specialists here at YourHolidayClaims have been contacted by recent visitors of the Melia Dunas Resort in Cape Verde, who claim that their hard earned holidays were plagued by Shigella.
Shigella is a highly infectious disease that can cause some very distressing symptoms, however the illness usually passes in around a week without treatment.
These latest reports follow a story which we covered from earlier this year, when holidaymakers claimed that 70% of the Melia Dunas Resort were suffering from gastric illness.
Whilst commenting on resorts problems at this particular time, one TripAdvisor poster revealed:
âTake lots of necessary medication.
âOur flight home landed at Gatwick and we were initially not allowed to disembark because of the amount of travellers who were ill during the flight.
âAfter 1.5 hrs still on the tarmac, the UK health authority allowed us off after taking passenger detailsâ.
Our legal experts thoughts
âOur team have previously covered reports of illness which have been made by guests of the Melia Dunas Resort, and worryingly we have once again learned of further sickness problems which the resort may have.
âIf you are on holiday and feel as though you may have contracted Shigella, then it is important that you notify your tour operator immediately, and take plenty of fluids on board to combat dehydration.
âIf you feel as though you are entitled to compensation and would like to receive more information on making a claim and how the claims process could benefit you, then get in touch with our expert team todayâ.
