Major food poisoning outbreak reported at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum

Following investigations into illness outbreaks at all-inclusive resorts, the YHC team have discovered multiple reviews which have been made by recent guests of the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum that suggest the Mexican complex has recently been host to a widespread illness outbreak.

A number of disgruntled holidaymakers have revealed the five star hotels recent illness issues by posting reviews on TripAdvisor, including one unhappy poster who revealed:

“For over half of our holiday myself and my partner were either confined to the room being sick, on the toilet, or both.

“We both were extremely ill to the point where my partner visited the doctor after being in the room for the third day straight, and visiting the bathroom 15-20 times in the space of about 4 hrs.

“An ambulance was called immediately! My partner was that ill and dehydrated they could not get an IV line into [his] vein.

“Im no doctor but this was, in the words of hearsay “pure & simple” down to the hotel!”

On top of this, unfortunately additional recent guests have also revealed that they too have fallen victim to illness whilst staying at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum. One October 2017 guest of the Thomas Cook promoted hotel claimed:

“I stayed in the Principe Tulum from 21st September to 5th October. I must say that I was expecting so much more.

“I suffered a horrific bout of gastroenteritis upon leaving which resulted in me being taken to hospital after leaving the plane. I was vomiting so bad that I became severely dehydrated to the point where I couldn’t walk.

“I was ill for over two weeks and am now suffering after effects also. The food was always Luke warm and not up to standard. The rooms where not very clean.

“For somewhere that is supposed to be 5 star, I was severely disappointed. I was given pink chicken one meal time. There were cockroaches at the snack bar [and] birds would land on your drinks when you went to get food from the buffet”.
