Illness complaints pile up at Melia Cayo Coco resort

A British holidaymaker has recently contacted Your Holiday Claims alleging to have suffered in an illness outbreak at the adults’ only Melia Cayo Coco hotel in Cuba.

Other afflicted guests have taken to review site TripAdvisor to express their dismay regarding hygiene standards at the hotel.

In a particularly alarming report, one stricken visitor claims to have lost “15lbs” in weight as a result of illness.

“After dinner the second day vomiting and diarrhoea commenced.

“Day three and four spent in room sick unable to eat anything but clear fluids.

“Resort doctor said this was rare but met some other guests with similar problem.”

Another stricken holidaymaker states that they will never return to the Melia Cayo Coco resort despite holidaying there for three years as standards have “gone downhill.” The once loyal guest from Warwickshire claims to have suffered from “tummy upsets” during their stay and alleges that the food was “cold and undercooked” with plates “dirty and not washed properly.”
