Holidays ruined by illness at Sol Calas de Mallorca
A British holidaymaker has reached out to industry leaders Your Holiday Claims for compensation advice after illness ruined her family stay at the four-star Sol Calas de Mallorca.
The stricken guests claims that both her and her child suffered severely from confirmed gastric illness.
Recent visitors to the Sol Calas de Mallorca hotel have noted several alarming hygiene practices on review site TripAdvisor.
“It was not the worst hotel, but it came close,” writes one disgruntled guest from June 2016.
“For how much me and my sister paid I was not expecting luxury, but I expected to at least have a clean pool and both of us not to be ill from food poisoning.”
Alarmingly, the stricken holidaymaker adds that “a family with 2 young children also were really poorly from the food.”
Reports of “undercooked” food and even “frozen chicken” served to guests can also be found online.
Anne Thomson, head of travel law at Your Holiday Claims commented: “It is concerning to learn that family holidays have been ruined by illness at the Sol Calas de Mallorca.
“Looking after an ill child on holiday can be incredibly distressing and if a parent is ill too, the situation can seem even more challenging. At Your Holiday Claims we are here to help and guide you through the claims process, ensuring that you receive the damages you are entitled to.”
