âStill recovering from the shockâ: Melia Buenavista guests are displeased with their visit
Reports have emerged from Cuban resort the Melia Buenavista that gastric illness outbreaks are reaping havoc inside the hotel, leaving numerous guests feeling distressed on their return home.
According to reviews left by holidaymakers on hotel reviewing website TripAdvisor, guests who visited the Caribbean resort have been left feeling run down after suffering from the apparent illness issues at the hotel.
British holidaymaker Susan revealed: âMy husband and I stayed at this all-inclusive hotel⦠We both got food poisoning a couple of days into our stay.
âOn our return to the U.K, my husband ended up in hospital for four days as a result of food poisoning. All the menus in the hotel have a disclaimer saying that if you eat undercooked meat or fish it is your responsibilityâ.
In addition to this, another holidaymaker disclosed just how poor they found the food standards to be at the Melia Buenavista.
He commented: âThe food was almost inedible to the point that we were dreading our mealsâ.
This disgruntled holidaymaker then claimed how he also fell victim to food poisoning during his stay.
âRarely were we served warm plates of foodâ¦By mid-week we both (him and his partner) got food poisoningâ.
On top of this, another holidaymaker who described the food as âgrimâ also raised issues over the lack of food hygiene at the resort.
They said that the resort is âcertainly not a five starâ and that when he was served a plate of lobster tails at one of the resorts restaurants, that the meal was âso undercooked that it was inedibleâ.
Your Holiday Claims experienced holiday illness solicitor Sue Robinson was keen to share her views on this emerging news.
âWe hear of regular problems relating to outbreaks of illness in Cuba, and it is hugely disappointing to hear of yet another.
âTo learn that holidaymakers are being hospitalised due to poor hotel conditions is just completely unacceptable, and it is imperative that sufficient investigations into these reports are carried out immediatelyâ.
Sue finished: âYou do not have to suffer in silence when illness strikes on holiday, get in touch with the Your Holiday Claims team now and receive the justice that you deserveâ.
