If you have suffered an accident abroad or if your holiday has been ruined as a result of a holiday illness, you may not know where to turn for help.
Yo may be unaware of the procedures involved in making a complaint to your tour operator or be unsure of your tour operator’s responsibilities.
At Your Holiday Claims, we are on hand to ensure that you are always of aware of your rights to make a claim.
What are your rights?
The Package Travel Regulations 2018 protects the rights of those who have booked a package holiday through a tour operator. If you have suffered a holiday illness or an accident abroad, your tour operator may be liable.
We would always encourage you to:
- Report any issues as soon as it happens (or as soon as you possibly can)
- report the issue to your holiday representative at your holiday destination
- keep records of who you have dealt with during your complaint
- take photos or videos where possible (for example the site of an accident)
Under the Package Travel Regulations, you can claim for loss of enjoyment of your holiday, diminution in value of your holiday i.e. you did not receive what you had paid for and any out of pocket expenses you may have incurred.
How can we help?
When bringing a complaint to your tour operator, it is important to realise that tour operators often attempt to buy claims off cheaply. This may be by offering vouchers towards another holiday or a small amount of compensation in settlement of a claim. In most cases, these offers seriously undervalue the claim.
Our dedicated holiday claims team has over 50 years combined experience within the travel law industry. They have the background knowledge and experience to help you obtain the best possible outcome for your claim and to ensure that you receive the correct amount of holiday compensation.
