British holidaymaker suffers from illness for 8 MONTHS following Hotel Los Cactus visit

  • Holidaymaker turns to YHC following food poisoning ordeal
  • Reports of illness at the Cuban resort are also made by additional holidaymakers
  • Lack of food hygiene held responsible

Our travel law experts are currently helping a British holidaymaker secure justice via holiday illness compensation, after an infection they contracted during their stay at the Hotel Los Cactus in October has left them still battling sickness to this day.

While speaking to our experts, the distressed former guest of the Cuban hotel revealed they were taken ill just two days into their hard-earned holiday when they started to develop symptoms of gastric illness.

Alarmingly, the ill-stricken Brit claimed that since returning home they have received medical treatments to combat the infection such as CT & ultra sound scans.

This enquiry prompted our experts to investigate the situation at the Hotel Los Cactus, and unfortunately by looking at reviews on the website TripAdvisor it seems that more recent holidaymakers may have also been affected.

A woman who stayed at the resort in May 2017 with her family revealed that illness outbreaks were a problem, as they commented:

“The buffet restaurant could either do with some netting at the sides to stop the birds coming in or put all the food into covered dishes, this might’ve prevented quite a few upset stomachs.

“The Cubans are very friendly but Im sure there are much better hotels”.

Furthermore, another recent guest of the resort raised further concerns over the hotels hygiene standards as they disclosed:

“The only reason not to give it 5 stars is the buffet food!

“Not sure what to say about it apart from questionable hygiene”.

Our Head of Travel Laws take

“The fact that illness issues at this hotel seem to be spread out over a long period of time tells me that the Hotel Los Cactus is suffering major breakdowns when it comes to hygiene standards.

“We are currently helping holidaymakers who have fallen victim to illness at this hotel, and we can help you too.

“Speak to our specialists today if sickness has plagued your package holiday within the last three years, our expert advice is only a phone call or click away”.
