The travel law experts at YourHolidayClaims have been informed of an alleged outbreak of illness at the four-star Pegasos World in Antalya, Turkey.
A recently returned party of 8 holidaymakers have launched legal action after 6 of their group were reportedly struck by illness symptoms including stomach cramps, diarrhoea and fever during their 11-night stay at the First Choice promoted resort.
Speaking to our specialist claims team, the afflicted party claim to have witnessed a number of hygiene failings during their stay and are in no doubt that their illness was the result of such breakdowns.
In particular, food and pool hygiene are singled out as areas of concern with hot food said to be served lukewarm and the swimming pool littered with debris.
âThe chicken wings were red raw,â comments one of the party.
âWe also saw flies on the buffet and children defecating in the pool.
âAs well as the gastric issues, some of the children from our party developed a red, bumpy rash.
âWe reported our symptoms in resort and sought medical attention.
âThis was our family holiday but it was ruined.â
Upon their return home, the party resolved to pursue a group claim for holiday illness in Turkey, instructing Litigation Executive, Danielle Burnie of YHC on a no win no fee basis.
Commenting on the case, Danielle said: âI am concerned to learn of this familys experiences at Pegasos World and sincerely hope that the tour operators and hotel work together in order to address the issues raised above.
âFalling sick on holiday can be incredibly distressing with holidaymakers often facing extra out of pocket expenses for medical treatment.
âHere, at YourHolidayClaims, we work tirelessly to help British package holidaymakers receive the compensation they deserve in hassle-free claims, recovering amounts to compensate for the illness suffered, loss of enjoyment and recoup any additional costs incurred due to illness.â
