Guests launch catalogue of illness complaints against the Siva Sharm Resort and Spa

A British family have reached out to industry leaders Your Holiday Claims for compensation advice alleging to have fallen ill with severe gastric symptoms at the Egyptian hotel, Siva Sharm Resort and Spa.

The family of 4 claim to have been struck by crippling stomach cramps, diarrhoea and sickness during a July 2014 stay. Alarmingly, the family also claim that many of their fellow hotel guests were suffering from similar illness symptoms.

TripAdvisor is awash with reports of illness from that period and beyond.

In a particularly worrying comment, one guest from July 2014 states that “we struggled to find a family or couple in the hotel that had not been ill.”

The holidaymaker writes with concern that a number of guests were placed onto drips and given injections.

In a more recent report from May 2015, one hotel guest from Taunton claims that they were “very shocked at the lack of even the most basic of food hygiene standards.”

She succinctly lists her complaints as follows: “Fresh food tipped on top of old, no use of food probes, plate trolley caked in dirt, no fly screens, food lukewarm at best.”

Other visitors have reported being served food, including meat, that was still raw in the middle and one guest claims to have even witnessed “excrement in the pool on a couple of occasions.”
