According to online reports, numerous holidays at the five-star Hotel Oasis Salinas Sea resort have been recently marred by illness.

Dismayed guests have taken to TripAdvisor to share their opinions, including one holidaymaker who commented “be aware”, before adding:

“So why do you need to be aware?

“Coming down with diarrhoea and vomiting is all too easy. Ruined is a strong word, but [illness] has certainly made our week there considerably less enjoyable as it should have been.

“The restaurant staff rushed round and the buffet was kept as clean as it could be but they didn’t address the fly infestation and there wasn’t an electric zapper to be seen anywhere.

“When you’re not used to seeing flies on food, seeing them in such numbers really puts you off eating.

“I lost 4 complete days of a weeks holiday with diarrhoea and vomiting, my wife lost two and we remain unwell at home now under the care of our GP.

“I knew we weren’t alone – illness was the main topic of conversation around the pool. It seemed no family hadn’t had problems of varying degrees”.

Additionally, other recent guests of the Hotel Oasis Salinas Sea have also commented on the hygiene issues present at the resort, including an August 2017 guest who revealed:

“The real and probably only problem in this hotel for me is the food. The food itself is fine but the amount of flies in the restaurant really kills your appetite.

“Luckily enough, my partner or I didn’t get ill but I know many people in the hotel were coming down with food poisoning which I can only put down to the amount of flies in the restaurant”.
