“Cold” food and “dirty” pools plague Hotel RIU Cancun Guests
A British holidaymaker has reached out to industry experts Your Holiday Claims for compensation advice reporting to have fallen ill at the five-star Hotel RIU Cancun.
Recent visitors to the Thomson Platinum resort have taken to TripAdvisor to voice their concerns regarding hygiene practices at the Mexican complex.
In a particularly worrying report, one guest form April 2016 bluntly states that “if food borne illness is your thing you’ll love this place!” The holidaymaker adds that “all the food on the buffet was cold. Some of it was so old it was hard.”
Other guests have turned their concerns towards the hotel’s swimming pool, stating that it looked “murky” and “dirty.”
“I went in the pool once and there were cups everywhere and a nasty film across the water,” comments a June 2016 holidaymaker.
