Here at Your Holiday Claims we have been contacted by a holidaymaker whose stay at the Concorde el Salam was ruined by an outbreak of illness.
Large numbers of visitors to the Egyptian hotel have reported witnessing unacceptable hygiene standards. Guests have taken to TripAdvisor to share their concerns regarding the Thomas Cook and First Choice promoted hotel.
One frustrated holidaymaker commented: “Thursday morning I started to become ill. Severe stomach cramps then followed by diarrhoea, then sickness. At 7am we rang the doctor for some medication to be sent from the chemist.”
“I had to call the doctor that evening as the tablets hadn’t made a difference and I now couldn’t take them as I was projectile vomiting. The doctor gave me two injections and asked to see me the following day.
“All in all, this was the worst holiday ever.”
Others have reported that “cleanliness in the main restaurant is very poor” and vomit was left uncleaned for 20 minutes after a child was sick in the restaurant. They added it was “no wonder there was sickness going around”.
