Hotel RIU Vallarta, which is marketed by Thomson platinum, is currently under scrutiny from a number of frustrated holidaymakers who are claiming that sickness and bed bug bites are marring their holidays.

Reporting on TripAdvisor, one previous guest at the resort claimed:

âI had an upset stomach the whole time I was there and two days after I returned home.

âWe had to get out of the complex a few times because the food was of such poor quality. Unfortunately this cost us money we were not planning on having to spend as were all inclusiveâ.

Other holidaymakers claim that filthy hotel rooms ruined their stay, and one guest says that they had to wash every single item of clothing they took on their trip after each one of their family was ridden with bed bug bites.

They added:

âWe had to change rooms because of the bed bugs. We all had bites on our feet and legsâ.
