Illness at the Holiday Village Costa del Sol sparks new enquiry

The team at Your Holiday Claims has heard from a visitor to the Holiday Village Costa del Sol after their stay at the resort was affected by illness.

We have also been reading reviews that other guests have left on TripAdvisor with some of them stating they too experienced illness and poor hygiene at the resort.

One guest described their stay as the “worst holiday ever”, stating: “During our stay the children both had sickness and stomach bugs, I had a sore throat and aching body and my husband also had a stomach upset.

“Not really sure what caused this but we don’t think the hotel was the cleanest.”

Another holidaymaker said that their family was struck down with illness.  They commented: “We were so pleased with our choice of hotel. Great location, plenty for children to do and friendly staff. The food looked amazing, plenty of choice.

“However, 2 days in to the holiday my 14 month old son suffered with serious vomiting and diarrhoea. After many worrying hours, we took him to the onsite doctor.

“He confirmed that my son had gastroenteritis (he said most probably food poisoning) and advised us to take him to hospital.

“He’s also said a few people had been ill with the same thing. I was also ill. My concern is with the hotel food, I am extremely disappointed as it ruined our holiday. We spent the rest of our holiday in and around our room, we couldn’t enjoy the facilities and we were totally put off eating for the rest of our duration.

“The first bit of food I had after I felt better was chicken and when I cut it, it was pink.”
