We are disappointed to read about more problems at the Houda Golf and Beach Club in Tunisia. We were contacted by a group of eight holidaymakers after their holiday from hell there last year.
Two of our clients were diagnosed as suffering from campylobacter following their stay and it would appear that illness has struck again, resulting in many ruined holidays.
Many British holidaymakers that have recently returned from their stay have warned others on TripAdvisor to âstay away from this hotelâ or to âcancel your holidayâ. after their holiday was ruined due to sickness, thought to be as a result of  poor food and hygiene standards.
A British couple from Bristol left the hotel after only one nights stay. They booked their holiday at the Houda Golf and Beach club for one week. But after arriving to a damp room, flies on the wall, dirty linen, and being served undercooked eggs, they decided to check into another hotel.
On Tripadvisor the lady complained: âThe food is the worst Ive ever had. Im not a fussy person but they cooked me a fried egg for 5 seconds then served it onto my plate.
âTo cut a long story short, we transferred to a different hotel after being there 22 hours, we couldnt even last a day. We couldnt take anymore at the Houda hell hole and had to pay a cancellation fee of £133 to them.
âWe werent the only couple that left, another family left before us and other families where thinking about leaving and to make the holiday even worse, they lost my suitcase and had to wait 5 days to get it back .â
A family of three from Burton upon Trent also had their holiday ruined due to illness suspected to have been caused as a result of the food served in the hotel.
âMy partner and one year old daughter had diarrhoea and a temperature for two days and continued to have diarrhoea until our last day there. I had an allergic reaction from the food (which I have never had before nor am I allergic to anything as far as Im aware)
âI was covered head to toe in lumps and rashes, swollen hands and could hardly see from the swelling round my eyes. I had to pay 115 diners for the injection and to see the doctor and when I asked what the injection is called; the âdoctorâ said it will just make you betterâ
Many other are suspected to have been affected by illness at the Houda Golf and Beach Club Hotel.
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced holiday illness claims solicitor commented: âThe Houda Golf and Beach Club in Monastir , Tunisia is no stranger to outbreaks of illness and our clients have previously raised concerns about the poor food and hygiene standards in the hotel.
âMany British holidaymakers enjoy a well-earned holiday to Tunisia every year, but unfortunately some return complaining of holiday illness.
âEvery year, the team at Your Holiday Claims successfully assist British holidaymakers to bring successful compensation claims.
âWhat is sad is that it appears that standards have not improved and yet more people are going to have their holidays spoilt by illness and I would urge anyone affected  to seek legal advice as soon as possible as they may be entitled to claim compensation.
