Recently returned holidaymakers have headed online to warn of ruined Spanish holidays at the four-star Hotel El Tope.

Just yesterday, a hotel guest posted on Facebook claiming to have suffered from “30+” bed bugs bites and received medical attention in resort for their symptoms.

Reports of bed bugs can also be found on hotel review site TripAdvisor with one holidaymaker claiming that their party experienced both bed bug bites and gastric illness during their stay.

“We discovered bed bugs. A nest of them on the underneath of the mattress and crawling the walls,” they comment.

“3 of our party all suffered vomiting and diarrhoea. The food served in the hall was … lukewarm at the best,” they add.
