Illness brings misery to Bavaro Princess

Visitors to the First Choice promoted Bavaro Princess hotel have criticised the standards of food hygiene after they were affected by sickness bugs. Many have commented on TripAdvisor, questioning the “unsafe food handling practices” at the five-star resort.

“The food is the bad,” comments one recent guest.

“I did not see a single person the entire week wear gloves. There is constant cross contamination going on. They use the same utensils on the raw meat as the cooked.

“I ate the rice and seafood by the beach and had food poisoning within 4 hours.

“I talked to multiple guests on our shuttle that got food poisoning from that. The majority of the food truly just doesn’t even taste good or edible.”

One hotel visitor who had travelled to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon reported falling ill for the majority of their holiday. They commented: “I fell sick on the third day and was sick until we left.

“I spoke with a lot of other people who also got very sick. The only thing I could stomach eating was bread.”
