Honeymooners fall ill at Sunrise Holidays Resort, Hurghada

After reading reports of illness on TripAdvisor about the Sunrise Holidays Resort, we are becoming concerned about the quality of the food served.

The hotel is promoted by Thomas Cook holidays amongst others. The Sunrise Holidays Resort enjoys its own private beach, along with 4 restaurants and swimming pool.

A couple on their honeymoon have said that the food was “appalling” and not “cooked properly.”

The couple reported that they had contracted food poisoning whilst staying at this hotel and they suffered symptoms including “flu-like aches, terrible stomach cramps and sickness.”

The honeymooners complained to their Thomas Cook representative and asked to be moved. The representative apparently asked them to “give it a chance.”

The couple went on to say “We managed to get some medication from the pharmacy and the next day we spoke to at least four different couples who’d all had exactly the same thing.”

Another holidaymaker also commented “the food was never hot, warm at best. We had regular stomach upsets – the food in many cases was inedible.”

They also added “the hotel lobby and bar areas smelt of sick, the incense sticks tried to mask this in the lobby.”
