In recent weeks, reports of ruined Mexican holidays at the five-star ClubHotel Riu Jalisco have been mounting.
One Facebook user bluntly labels the resort an “absolute disgrace” and lists his complaints as follows:
“Walked out of 3 restaurants due to lack of or hot food being stone cold even when the food was sent back it was given back to me cold again.
“Had to be moved rooms due to hygiene issues with floor and bedding, leaking fridge my partner slipping on puddles of water, shower falling off the wall and hitting my partner on the head, and also being bitten by bed bugs (diagnosed by a doctor).
“Swimming pool and self-service drinks machines full of wasps alive and dead (disgusting)”.
Reviews on TripAdvisor are similarly scathing with one recently returned guest pleading for the hotel to be “shut down”.
The disgruntled holidaymaker claims to have suffered from sickness during their stay and labels the food at the resort “terrible … It was touched by everyone and not sanitary at all”.
