Reports of illness, thought to be caused by poor hygiene and infestation, are currently emerging at the four star Iberostar Laguna Azul Resort in Cuba.
Recent holidaymakers have taken to TripAdvisor to warn âthis hotel should come with a health hazard warningâ, after numerous holidays are thought to have been ruined.
One disgruntled holidaymaker commented: âI have travelled a fair amount and this is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at.
âWe were meant to stay at this hotel for 11 nights and landed up only staying for 1 night as we thought that there were so many health and safety hazards that we were not prepared to stay.
âThe food quality was very poor and flies on everythingâ¦needless to say my wife and my sons girlfriend landed up with upset stomachs.
âMy wife went to a toilet close to the dining area and found that there was no toilet seat or toilet paper. Really, we have used toilets half way up Kilimanjaro that are in the better condition that this!â
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced travel law solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âFood left uncovered and open to contamination from pests and other bacteria holds an extremely high risk of causing illness amongst holidaymakers.
âI would encourage anyone who has suffered illness at Iberostar Laguna Azul to seek expert legal advice as they may be able to make a claim for holiday illness compensation.â
